Lead Curriculum Design and Implementation: Guide Prep-Year 2 teachers in co-designing and delivering contextualised curriculum that reflects our local community, aligns to the Australian Curriculum v9, and leverages authentic community partnerships.
Lead the Teaching of Reading and Pedagogical Practice: Demonstrate deep knowledge of how pedagogy drives reading improvement, grounded in the Science of Reading and aligned to the Department of Education's Reading Implementation Guide and Signposts.
Lead the design and modelling of high-impact instructional practices that connect evidence-based reading instruction with daily classroom pedagogy. Support teachers to develop their practice through coaching, co-planning, and reflection, ensuring reading improvement strategies are consistently embedded across Prep - 2.
Embed Signature Pedagogy (Walker Learning): Lead and coach staff in the ongoing consolidation of the Walker Learning approach through instructional coaching, modelling, and feedback to ensure fidelity of practice across all early years classrooms.
Enhance Wellbeing and Behaviour Systems: Work in partnership with the Health and Wellbeing Teacher to refine and implement behaviour protocols that cater to the diverse needs of learners, maintaining a positive and inclusive learning culture.
Be a Visible and Engaged Leader: Actively connect with students, families, and staff. Build trust and presence across the school community through daily engagement, strong relationships, and a genuine commitment to connection to enhance engagement and belonging.
Use Data to Drive Improvement: Demonstrate a strong understanding of data analytics across a range of diagnostic and assessment tools (e.g. Summative Assessments, SPARKLE, DIBELS and Year 1 Phonics Screener) to monitor student progress and inform differentiated teaching and learning.
Lead with Emotional Intelligence: Model empathy, authenticity, and self-awareness. Build teacher capability through trust, encouragement, and constructive feedback, fostering a culture of shared accountability and professional growth.
