The Role
As a TAFE Teacher in Justice, you have the opportunity to influence the careers of future industry persons by sharing your extensive industry knowledge to students in a classroom or other educational setting.
We have an exciting temporary full-time opportunity available until December 2026 (unless otherwise determined) to join our team at TAFE Queensland’s South Bank Campus. Part-time & Casual Teaching opportunities within the Justice team are also available.
This position reports to the Educational Team Leader.

Salary
The salary range for a teacher is $89,799.32 to $112,392.64 (gross) per annum plus superannuation contributions of 12.75% of your salary depending on qualifications and experience.

Mandatory Requirements
Applicants must possess the following:
- Vocational competencies at least to the level being delivered and assessed;
- 1 0971NAT Cert IV in Justice Studies, 10972NAT Diploma of Justice Studies or BSB50720 Diploma of Paralegal or higher-level qualification
- current industry skills directly relevant to the training and assessment being provided;
- current knowledge and skills in vocational training and learning that informs the training and assessment provided;
- evidence of undertaking professional development in the fields of the knowledge and practice of vocational training, learning and assessment including competency-based training and assessment;
Additionally, to become a TAFE Teacher, you must hold one of the following training and assessment credentials:
- TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or its successor; or
- TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment; or
- TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment; plus:
oTAELLN411 or its successor or TAELLN401A; and
oTAEASS502 or its successor or TAEASS502A or TAEASS502B; or
- A credential issued by a higher education provider which would enable the individual to satisfy the academic requirements for registration as a secondary school teacher and one (1) of the following credentials:
oTAESS00024 VET Delivered to School Students Teacher Enhancement Skill Set or its successor, or
oTAESS00019 Assessor Skill Set or its successor; or
oTAESS00011 Assessor Skill Set; or
- A diploma or higher-level qualification in adult or vocational education (approved by TAFE Queensland).
