Casual Lecturers – Master of Business Administration (MBA)
Melbourne Institute of Higher Education (MIHE), located in Melbourne, is planning to commence delivery of its Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Trimester 3, 2026, subject to final approval processes.
MIHE invites Expressions of Interest from suitably qualified and experienced academics for casual lecturing opportunities in the following discipline areas:
- Marketing
- Accounting
- Finance
- Economics
- Ethics and Governance
- Business Law
- Health Services Management
- Business Statistics
We are seeking applicants with strong academic credentials, current disciplinary knowledge, scholarly engagement, and demonstrated experience in contemporary higher education teaching and assessment.

Selection Criteria Questions
1. Teaching Area
Please identify the unit or units and/or discipline area(s) within the MBA that you would like to teach.
2. Academic Qualification
To teach in the MBA, applicants must hold a qualification in a relevant discipline that is at least one AQF level higher than the qualification being taught.
Please confirm that you hold a Doctorate and specify the discipline area of your doctoral qualification.
3. Current Discipline Knowledge and Scholarly Engagement
Please explain how you have developed and maintained current knowledge of contemporary developments in the field you wish to teach. Your response should demonstrate that your discipline knowledge is informed by continuing scholarship, research, and/or advances in professional practice.
This may include:
- recent publications
- conference attendance or presentations
- participation in discipline-specific training or seminars
- consultancies or industry engagement
- recent employment history relevant to the discipline
- supervision of student projects linked to industry
- recent doctoral completion
- applied research, policy work, or community engagement
Applicants should also ensure that their CV clearly identifies:
- recent research and scholarly activity
- (for example, publications, papers under review, working papers, or research pipeline)
- engagement with the academic community

- tertiary teaching qualifications
- scholarly work related to teaching and learning

- including higher education teaching experience, teaching across levels, and experience with diverse cohorts such as international students and mature learners

- assessment capability
- including assessment design, constructive alignment, moderation, and academic integrity practices
