Head of English at St. Luke's College - Commencing 2027
St Luke's College, is seeking a dynamic and inspiring Head of English to join our dedicated team in 2027. We are searching for a creative and enthusiastic individual who possesses a deep passion for literature and the ability to nurture our students’ creative abilities, empowering them to bring their literacy works to life.
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head of English to lead our dynamic English Department and inspire a love for literature and language in our students. The successful candidate will have the competence to develop students' language proficiency, critical thinking skills and a deep appreciation for literature, enabling them to effectively communicate and analyse complex text.
Additional Financial Incentives For Teachers At St Luke's Karratha
- Subsidised housing
- Fortnightly location allowance of $148.63 for singles and $297.25 for those with dependents.
- $6000 yearly bonus after a full year of service.
- Paid long service leave for each year of service within that school at twice the applicable rate.
- Entitled to take long service leave after completing three years' continuous service at the College. Normally seven at CEWA schools and ten in government schools.
- CEWA pays 100% of teachers water bill.
- Subsidised electricity bills.
- CEWA provides a gardener for your property once a fortnight.
- Return flights to Karratha at the end of each year for teachers and their immediate family members. Reimbursement is up to the value of $2100 per person.
Selection Criteria
- Leadership: Lead and manage the English Department, fostering a collaborative and innovative teaching environment.
- Curriculum Development: Lead the design and implementation of a comprehensive and rigorous English curriculum that meets the needs of all students.
- Teaching Excellence: Model and cultivate consistently high-quality English instruction, which uses varied pedagogical practices to engage and inspire learners.
- Staff Development: Mentor and support English teachers, providing professional development opportunities and building a culture of ongoing improvement
- Assessment and Evaluation: Oversee the assessment process, ensuring valid and reliable evaluation of students’ progress and achievement.
Qualifications Required
- Current WWC
- TRBWA registration (or ability to obtain)
- Minimum 4-year tertiary qualification in Education.
- Relevant qualifications and teaching certification in English.
