Role Description The Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role based in Sydney, NSW, responsible for the daily operations and coordination of a child care center within Active Kids Group. This includes overseeing room routines, supervising and supporting educators, and ensuring that programs and practices align with regulatory standards and the organization’s educational philosophy. The Coordinator will communicate regularly with families, respond to their inquiries, and maintain strong, positive relationships that support each child’s learning and wellbeing. The role involves managing rosters, maintaining accurate records and documentation, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements. The Coordinator will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, mentor team members, and help create a collaborative, inclusive, and engaging environment for children and staff.
Qualifications
- Relevant early childhood education qualification (e.g. Diploma in Early Childhood) and a solid understanding of early years learning frameworks and child development.
- Demonstrated experience in coordinating or leading teams in an early childhood or education setting, including mentoring educators and supporting professional practice.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
- Organisational and administrative abilities, including managing schedules, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements in early childhood education, including health, safety, and safeguarding standards.
- Commitment to inclusive, child-centered practices and a passion for creating engaging, learning-rich environments for children from diverse backgrounds.
- Current Working with Children Check, first aid and CPR certifications (or willingness to obtain), and ongoing commitment to professional learning.
