Shelford Campus
Opening in 2027 in the heart of Caulfield, Shelford Campus will be Caulfield Grammar School’s newest Junior School. The campus will initially offer exceptional education for students in Prep and Years 4–6, before growing into a full Prep to Year 6 Junior School. This represents a once‑in‑a‑career opportunity for a founding teaching team to shape the culture and community from the ground up, delivering high‑impact learning in an outstanding purpose‑designed environment.
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to help establish an inclusive, high-impact learning environment at our new Shelford Campus.
Reporting to the Head of Learning Strategies, the Junior School Learning Strategies Teachers will work collaboratively with classroom teachers to deliver a contemporary, evidence-informed Learning Strategies program that reflects the School's values and commitment to excellence.
Working with students from Prep to Year 6, you will support students across the full spectrum of learning needs, providing targeted intervention, extension and enrichment opportunities that enable every learner to thrive. Through personalised learning, small-group programs and in-class support, you will foster confidence, independence, curiosity and a strong sense of belonging while ensuring all students are appropriately challenged to achieve their potential.
As a founding member of the Shelford team, you will play a key role in building an inclusive culture by partnering with teachers to embed effective differentiation and evidence-based teaching practices that enhance learning outcomes for all students. You will contribute to the development of personalised learning plans, monitor student progress, and help establish best practice in both learning support and extension across the campus.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver targeted Learning Strategies programs across the Junior School, supporting students with diverse learning needs.
- Design and implement differentiated learning experiences aligned to curriculum requirements, incorporating contemporary, evidence‑based teaching practices.
- Support students through small group instruction, individual intervention and in‑class support to improve learning outcomes.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student wellbeing, engagement and confidence.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely and meaningful feedback to support growth and development.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to plan and implement adjustments and inclusive teaching strategies.
- Contribute to the identification, assessment and support of students with additional learning needs, including maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Support the development of individual learning plans and targeted interventions based on student data and needs.
- Promote inclusive practices that support students from diverse linguistic, cultural and socio‑economic backgrounds.
- Actively contribute to professional learning, collaboration and continuous improvement initiatives within the School.
- Demonstrate active involvement in School life, including co‑curricular opportunities where appropriate.
- Uphold the School’s commitment to Child Safety, ensuring the wellbeing, safety and dignity of all students at all times.

Skills And Qualifications
- Teaching qualifications, with a preference for Special Education or additional postgraduate study in learning support or extension/enrichment.
- Current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration.
- First Aid – Level 2 and Anaphylaxis qualifications (or willingness to obtain).
- Demonstrated experience working with primary or junior school students with diverse learning needs.
- Strong knowledge of differentiated instruction, inclusive education practices and learning intervention strategies.
- Understanding of curriculum, assessment and reporting requirements, with the ability to adapt learning accordingly.
- Experience supporting students across a range of abilities, including those with disability and additional learning needs.
- Highly developed communication, organisational and time management skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and the wider school community.
- Commitment to collaboration, professional learning, reflective practice and continuous improvement.
- A passion for inclusive education and supporting students to achieve their full potential.
