About the Role
Music Teacher and Concert Band Conductor
St Aloysius' College is seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Music Teacher and Concert Band Conductor to join the College in a full-time, ongoing position commencing in Term I, 2027.
This is an exciting opportunity for an accomplished educator and musician to inspire students both in the classroom and through the College's outstanding co-curricular music program.
Reporting to the Director of Music, you will contribute to both the classroom and co-curricular music programs, with responsibilities spanning music teaching and the conducting of several ensembles, particularly within the Concert Band program.
You will also support the coordination of the College's co-curricular music program, working closely with the Head of Music (Performance) to ensure the continued success of the College's vibrant music community.
The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in music education and experience conducting concert bands or instrumental ensembles. You will be a collaborative and engaging educator who creates inspiring learning experiences, builds positive relationships with students and colleagues, and is committed to supporting the academic, pastoral and co-curricular life of the College.

Your application
To be considered for this position, the successful candidate will need to demonstrate:
- Commitment to the mission of Catholic education of boys in the Jesuit tradition;
- Possess relevant Secondary teaching qualifications and eligibility to teach under the requirements of NESA, NSW legislation and College policy;
- Demonstrated experience teaching, or keen willingness to teach Music at all levels, Years 7–12;
- Demonstrated outstanding performance proficiency on at least one instrument;
- Demonstrated excellence in concert band and ensemble conducting;
- Experience of collaborative planning and a team approach to curriculum design and program development;
- Proven ability to ensure teaching and learning activities reflect contemporary pedagogy, including the ability to employ differentiation strategies;
- Ability to create a positive, supportive and engaging classroom climate that meets the academic, social and emotional needs of all students;
- High level of organisation and time management;
- Commitment to participation in the pastoral and co-curricular programs of the College;
- Hold or willing to obtain a valid Working With Children Clearance.
